The first Saturday of every month, Destination Daytona hosts Florida's Largest Bike Night at the Daytona Harley-Davidson. Hop on your hog, hang out and enjoy live music, beer, barbeque and ice cream specials. All bikes are welcome and every month has a different theme.
The Ormond Beach Farmers Market has finalized its summer hours. Through September, the market will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays at Rockefeller Gardens, Ormond Beach. To become a vendor or for more information, call Maggie Sacks, 386-451-2138

Three Ormond Beach hotels get new owners
Houston, Texas-based investor/developer Walter Galdenzi acquired two oceanfront hotels -- the Quality Inn and Suites, which he bought for $1.3 million, and the Comfort Inn on the Beach hotel, which sold for $1.05 million, according to Volusia County property records. Also changing owners last Wednesday in a separate transaction was Wells Fargo Bank's transfer of the title for the Sleep Inn hotel on Williamson Boulevard near Interstate 95. The new owner is a newly formed holding company called Ormond Beach Hotel LLC. The hotel is valued at $1 million.

Ormond baseball card show may be last
A long-running baseball card collectors event may have its 64th and final show Saturday at Ormond Beach Union Church. A slow economy and lack of patrons has led Jeff Boyle, former owner of the Baseball Card Exchange, to abandon the event that has run periodically since 1998. Some are hoping it will be revived in the future at some new location.

Sands oceanfront resort in Ormond Beach sold
The Coral Sands Inn & Seaside Cottages, an oceanfront resort hotel, has been sold for $6.15 million. The transaction, which took place last week, halted a bank foreclosure on the property. The Coral Sands is at 1009 Ocean Shore Blvd., a mile north of Granada Boulevard.

Ormond bait shop operator nets praise, applause, new lease
Anglers young and old came to the City Commission meeting in force Tuesday night, but not to hear about rezoning issues, budget balancing and grant extensions. They came nearly 60 strong to support bait shop operator Isaac "Ike" Leary, who has leased Granada Pier Bait & Tackle from the city for more than 11 years.

Beachside eyesore to convert into new Circle K store
A beachside eyesore here is being cleaned up to make way for a new convenience store/gas station. The land owner of 530 S. Atlantic Ave. and the new tenant of a former Texaco gas station have teamed up and are refurbishing the 1964-built garage into a Circle K convenience store that also will have BP gas pumps.
